I am an Early Childhood Teacher turned SSP administrator, and Nicole’s dispensary and administration assistant as well. If you’ve received a package from Abundant Life Natural Health over the last year, chances are I am the one who lovingly wrapped it up in bubble wrap so it could make it to your door safely.
Being a teacher has taught me many things; one of which is “there’s always a reason behind a behaviour” and it’s the ‘hard to manage’ behaviours that intrigue me most. Before joining the Abundant Life team I had no way of helping children with learning difficulties, trauma and other diagnoses to gain control over their emotions and create meaningful and positive relationships with peers and educators. I would try to listen to, understand and be patient with these little people under my care, but it was hard going – and often outside of my capacity as a teacher. I was there to educate, not to heal.
I have also spent time in Uganda, volunteering with two NGOs before co-founding one of my own, She is More Than. The focus of this organization is to bring hope, freedom and faith to human-trafficked teen girls. We established a rehabilitation home that offered holistic healing for these young women – many of whom had experienced much trauma in their young lives.
Upon returning to Australia, I spent some time as a primary school chaplain – devoting my time to care about the social, emotional and spiritual aspects of the children within the school environment.
All of this life experience has brought me to a place where I have clearly seen the need for real healing in the lives of people who have walked through trauma, illness and disability. This is where the Safe and Sound Protocol comes in!
As an administrator and soon-to-be practitioner of the Safe & Sound Protocol, I am hoping to bring a key (I believe there’s more than one) to begin the healing process for children and adults alike; opening up their nervous systems to re-establish health, growth, learning and social engagement. There is often much work that needs to be done to experience true healing in body, soul and spirit – but I believe the SSP is a great way to unlock the door to this healing.
If you are interested in beginning this journey with the SSP, then please reach out to book an intake interview here.
I have a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) and have taught for ten years, mainly with Kindergarten children (3-5 year olds).
I am currently undergoing full training to become an SSP Practitioner.
By the end of 2018 I also will have entered the School of Parenting, as I am expecting my first baby (due the end of September). I’ve been informed that this School will train you in a way no other study can. I’m looking forward to every lesson!
I’m also looking forward to meeting you and being a part of your journey towards an abundant life.
